Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Principal / Sr. Principal Electrical Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California. This role requires a solid foundation and understanding of testing in the IT&L environment.
This position can be filled at a level 3 or 4. Candidates must be able to travel for more than 70% or relocate (Merritt Island Florida)
Essential Functions:
Principle / Sr. Principal Electrical Test Engineering will support Integration and Test flow at the Airbus OneWeb Satellite facility in Merritt Island Florida. Responsibilities including Test Set Requirements development and design reviews, TIS Development in interfacing with our software team, Test Script Development, Test Procedure & Interconnect Drawing development, Integration, Checkout, Integrated System Test, Environmental Tests, and final delivery. Other responsibilities include coming up to speed on both the deliverable hardware and Test Set architecture. Some shift work and travel may be required.

The working schedule is typically 9/80, but the schedule will require shift work, weekend work, extended work week, holiday/shutdown, and domestic travel to support program objectives.
Basic Qualifications for a level 3:
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 5 years of engineering experience OR a Masters of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 3 years of engineering experience.
Must have knowledge of Radio-Frequency (RF), digital Instrumentation and Command and Data Handling.
Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team
Experience in Electrical System Level Testing, Integration or Test
Ability to Travel for more than 70% or relocate (Merritt Island Florida)
Candidate must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.

Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 9 years of engineering experience OR a Masters of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 7 years of engineering experience.
Must have knowledge of Radio-Frequency (RF), digital Instrumentation and Command and Data Handling.
Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team
Experience in Electrical System Level Testing, Integration or Test
Ability to Travel for more than 70% or relocate (Merritt Island Florida)
Candidate must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
(I&T) Integration & Test experience
Ability to operate in a large Integration and Test environment
Ability to function as a member of a team
Experience troubleshooting anomalous hardware and software
Experience in test script development
Basic Programming Skills in one or more of these areas: Python, C, Matlab, Excel
Excellent communication skills
Excellent technical writing skills
Presentation of test results to program and customer
Act in a team lead role of other TE’s and test operations personnel
