The Electronics and Payloads - Antenna Products team is hiring for the next Principal Antenna RF Engineer. In this position the selected candidate designs, develops, tests radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products. Includes antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters and receivers.
Typical Responsibilities:
• Design/analysis/testing of radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave antenna systems.
• Design/analysis using electromagnetic theory, electromagnetic analysis, and performance budgeting/allocation,
• Or Design/analysis of antenna mechanical structures using finite element analysis modeling and methods.
• Practical design/analysis of antenna hardware solutions, using innovative thinking, with familiarity with the state-of-the-art.
• Leadership of antenna design/analysis teams to accomplish project objectives.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 4+ years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment; or STEM Master degree and 2+ years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment; or a STEM PhD.
- Experience with designing/analyzing/testing radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave antenna systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
- Proficiency with MATLAB and/or other related programming languages.
- Experience with CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, GRASP, FEKO, and/or other computational electromagnetics software tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Electromagnetics from an accredited institution and 7 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment.
- Experience with antenna system architecture development, antenna system requirements generation/flowdown, antenna system design/analysis, and antenna system performance verification including range testing.
- Experience with managing engineering teams from cost, schedule, and staffing perspectives.
- Proficiency with CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, GRASP, FEKO, and/or other computational electromagnetics software tools.
- Technical breadth across any of the following areas: highly-integrated antenna systems, phased arrays, digital beamforming, reflector antennas, reflect-arrays, aperture antennas, wire antennas, antenna/RF system performance analysis, RF electronics, digital electronics, power electronics, CAD modeling, statistics, systems engineering, antenna control design, range testing, measurement equipment automation, and data post-processing/reduction.
- Active In-Scope DoD Top Secret and/or SSBI/SCI clearance.
