Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Pilot-Vehicle Interface Responsible Engineer/Principal Pilot-Vehicle Interface Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL.
**This position may be filled by either a Pilot-Vehicle Interface Responsible Engineer/Principal Pilot-Vehicle Interface Responsible Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Engineer Electronics /Principal Engineer Electronics is expected to be a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to operate/communicate effectively with leadership, customer, suppliers, engineers, and other team members.
The Pilot-Vehicle RE is responsible for the following engineering as it relates to HMI Design/
Ownership of HMIWG
Ownership of CASWG (Warnings Cautions and Advisories: MIL-STD-411)
Agile SW Development
Understanding Air Vehicle designs and translating them into pilot displays
Understanding basic flight and mission conops and translating them into pilot displays
Human Factors Design (MIL-STD-1472 and 1787)
Generation of procedures, reports, and conducting Workload/Usability/Situational Awareness Assessments
Write/draft, interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down requirements to all design levels.
Author design guidelines, complete technical analyses and write reports.
Present material during design reviews to internal and external customers.
Basic Qualifications:
For - Pilot-Vehicle Interface Responsible Engineer (T02):
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
Must have and maintain special program access after start of employment.
Must have experience working with Mission System Subsystems or Military Avionics Systems.
Basic Qualifications:
For - Principal Pilot-Vehicle Interface Responsible Engineer (T03):
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience OR 0 years’ experience
Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
Must have and maintain special program access after start of employment.
Must have experience working with Mission System Subsystems or Military Avionics Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of Military Cockpits
General familiarity with overall integration of all aircraft systems.
Experience with defense and aerospace industry practices, and programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, Risk assessments and Airworthiness is a plus for candidates.
Current/active Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
