Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Electronics Engineer/Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL.
**This position may be filled by either at the Principal Electronics Engineer level OR at the Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.**
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) business unit is developing cutting edge technology that seamlessly analyzes, fuses, and distributes multi-domain information into command-and-control systems of systems to support all domains of war.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design, analyze, configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and communications subsystems
Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and communications subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation
Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements
A successful Principal Electronics Engineer/Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Electronics Engineer (T03):
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (HF through Ku/Ka bands)
Experience designing, configuring, installing and operating communication systems in airborne military applications
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer (T04):
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (HF through Ku/Ka bands)
Experience designing, configuring, installing and operating communication systems in airborne military applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with voice, military and network waveforms
Experience with performance assessment through link margin and antenna pattern analyses
Ability to design select and characterize RF design to meet mission objectives
Experience with cryptographic implementations
Experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
Experience with cosite analysis
Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various
