This position entails leading a team of Manufacturing Process and Test Engineers chartered to develop, maintain, and continuously improve EOIR manufacturing processes and test capability employed in the production of airborne, military-grade EO systems.
Responsibilities include leading the team’s efforts to provide technical support to production assembly and test technicians, developing and validating new production and test equipment, focusing the team on continuous improvement of products, collaborating with Design Engineering on new product development, preparing proposals in response to customer requests, strategically planning and implementing capital investment, and maintaining appropriate staffing.
This Manufacturing Engineering team is comprised of mechanical, electrical, and software specialists. The products operate across visible to long-wave IR wavelengths.
This leader will foster a trusting and collaborative environment enabling the direct team to maximize its effectiveness. Building a strong professional relationship with other Manufacturing disciplines (Project Management, Shop Operations, Mission Assurance, Design, etc.) is essential.
Basic Qualifications: Manager, Electronics Engineering 1
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- This individual will have very strong leadership skills with the ability to be assertive while respectful and to collaborate skillfully across functional organizations.
- This individual will be able to thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment.
- This individual will be an extremely effective written and verbal communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
- This individual will have relevant experience in manufacturing or design.
- This individual will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
- This individual will be a United States citizen with the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
- This individual will have the ability to read and understand product drawings and specifications.

- Demonstrated experience in the design and development of EOIR test equipment.
- Training and certification in Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools
- Experience with SAP ERP software
- Expertise in a Manufacturing environment, with demonstrated experience managing a work cell, engineering group, test environment, or technical projects.
- Working knowledge of product flow (development through production)
- Active DoD Security Clearance
- Experience in the use and application of the National Instruments LabVIEW and/or C# programming environment
Preferred Qualifications: Manager, Electronics Engineering 2
- Experience in EOIR manufacturing with a specific focus on military-grade hardware. Success in the management of engineers through the design or manufacture of military-grade products. Demonstrated success in leading and developing manufacturing engineers.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and development of EOIR test equipment.
