Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Foundries and Microelectronics Category Technologist (Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Electronics) to join our team in Baltimore, MD.
The Foundries and Microelectronics Category Technologist will provide technical expertise for suppliers within the category. The technologist will support technical projects, provide sourcing guidance, and ensure problem solving work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious which will support excellent supplier performance. The technologist will collaborate with the strategist in creating a category technology roadmap and onboarding new suppliers into the category.
The Technologist will collaborate with supplier leads, engineering, program management, and strategy teams to ensure we are providing the best possible solutions from the right suppliers for programs to be successful. The Technologist will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts as it relates to the category management supply chain base and contributes to the development of new principles and concepts to support the supplier’s technical capabilities and offerings. The selected candidate will work with the Risk Board to ensure the category management organization considers risk mitigation plans to help support our supply chain base and ensure they are successful in program execution.
Position Summary / Responsibilities:
- Maintains detailed knowledge of category technology area; geographically and technically aligned with design concentration areas.
- Will ensure thorough knowledge of the category supplier Technical Capabilities and aligns Northrop Grumman and Supplier technology roadmaps; interface with design engineering on supplier capabilities and design producibility analysis.
- Provides guidance on technical planning and supports analysis of cost and risk.
- Perform Analyses are performed in coordination with Engineering organization at all appropriate levels to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation and operation. Technical Advocate for GSC early engagement in the business acquisition process.
- Provides influence on design guidelines based on supplier capabilities.
- Engineering Facing Role to advocate and influence Producibility analysis.
**This position will be located in Baltimore and may consider a hybrid work schedule.
This position may be filled at the Principal (level 3) or Sr. Principal (level 4) level, depending on experience.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
- Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field role with 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Project Management, Contracts Management, Business Management, Supplier Diversity, strategic sourcing, customer service, operations, or other relevant and related experience; 3 years with Master's degree
- Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute complex plans
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:
- Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field with 9+ years of experience in Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Project Management, Contracts Management, Business Management, Supplier Diversity, strategic sourcing, customer service, operations, or other relevant and related experience; 7 years with Master's degree
- Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute complex plans
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
- MS or MBA degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or Supply Chain
- Safe Agile Certified
- Knowledge of one or more of the following technology areas:
- Wafer Fabrication (SiGe, Silicon, GaAs, GaN)
- Wafer Post Processing (thinning, singulation, test, sort)
- Advanced Packaging Techniques (2D, 2.5D, 3D, Organic-HDI/HDBU, Ceramic)
