Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineering Manager 3 (Guidance Computer Senior Subcontract Technical Manager). This position will be located in Roy, Utah or can be done remote and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What You’ll Get To Do
The Subcontract Technical Manager’s primary responsibilities are to establish and maintain all the Guidance Computer Subsystem’s subcontract operations to execute the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of a subcontract. The subcontract of interest involves the fabrication, assembly, and test of the Guidance Computer Subsystem, including multiple circuit card assemblies (CCA) into the larger configured item subsystem.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Enforcement of subcontractor execution of a Statement of Work (SOW) and support of contract modifications as necessary
- Planning, risk management, and project performance management addressing cost, schedule and technical quality for related Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements
- Responsible to manage subcontractor’s performance. Helps to resolve technical and operational problems. Typically accomplishes results through lower level(s) of technical advisement, subject matter experts (SMEs), or focused oversight of subcontractor

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM - (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 8 years of related experience, Master’s Degree in STEM and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of related experience with PhD in STEM.
- Minimum of 3 years in a formal lead/management position
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance
- 1 year of experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
- 2 years of Experience working with a subcontractor in at least a technical advisory role
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Current or active Top Secret, SCI, and/or Special Access clearance
- MBA
- Knowledge of configuration management best practices, scheduling, and cost estimation
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and to meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment
- Ability to maneuver effectively through political situations and to anticipate roadblocks
- Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience with high-reliability onboard computers, avionics, or other electronic systems
- Experience leading Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) teams
- Experience on ICBM or missile programs
- Experience leading hardware procurement/supply chain operations
- Experience overseeing subcontracts for performance and accountability
- Experience applying Agile and/or MBE to a project
- Strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience in a Management role, such as Section Manager or IPT Lead
