Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal/Senior Engineer Database. As part of the NGAS Global Supply Chain Operations Performance team, the individual will be required to support a diverse array of tasks and projects within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization. This position is located onsite in Melbourne, Florida.
Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
Creates data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. Analysis may have many applications such as to address a business issue or provide a competitive advantage for the organization. Requires statistical and data visualization skills.
In this role, the selected candidate will perform the following:
Architect, design, develop, document, test, integrate and debug data products created by scripts and custom tools
Meet project milestones while ensuring high quality standards are met
Interface with other groups and subject matter experts within and outside of the organization
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of related experience, OR a Master’s Degree & 3 years of related experience
- Must have knowledge of relational databases (i.e. MSSQL)
- Must be proficient with writing Structure Query Language (SQL) scripts
- Must have a current & active DoD security clearance
- Must have experience with writing Python scripts to automate data insertion/extraction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Experience architecting databases
- Experience interpreting and anticipating requirements from stakeholders
- Knowledge of Data Visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Microsoft Power BI)
- Knowledge of SAP HANA or FIORI
- Experience with configuration management and version control tools such as JIRA, Git/Bitbucket
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills
- Experience with node.js, React, express, and JavaScript is a plus
- Have a experience with implementing and maintaining MSSQL databases
