The Emerging Capabilities Development group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Advanced Technology Lab (ATL). ATL is located just outside of Baltimore, MD - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production as well as emerging programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.

We are currently in a growth mode and are looking for individuals who are interested in using their skills including but not limited to cleared or uncleared:

  • RF Test Engineers

  • Test Engineers

  • Digital Circuit Design Engineers

  • Process Engineers

  • Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) Engineers

  • Semiconductor Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Process Engineer

Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Material Science, Chemistry, or closely related technical major

  • Semiconductor background

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively to team members both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or PhD

  • Aptitude for hands-on laboratory and experimental work.

  • Understanding of basic semiconductor processing

  • Experience in digital or analog design

  • Experience operating or troubleshooting electronic test systems

  • Experience with superconducting electronics test platforms and cryogenic test environments

  • Experience with design or test of microwave electronics

Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,600
Salary Range 2: $99,800 - $149,800
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
