Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a GNC Engineer or Principal GNC Engineer to support the High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) programs in Emerado, ND. The selected candidate’s primary task will be flight plan mission analysis.
This position can be filled at either the Engineer or Principal Engineer level.
Essential Functions include the following:
Flight plan mission analysis for the HALE program using 6 Degree Of Freedom (6DOF) simulation and various UAV route analysis tools
Work with mission planners to develop UAV routing
The selected candidate will serve as technical spokesman for mission analysis with customers, including preparation and presentation of technical briefings
The selected candidate will have sufficient multi-disciplinary knowledge to direct or mentor subordinate personnel on HALE mission profiles
The selected candidate may be called upon to support proposal preparation efforts and new project activities, including responsibility for project technical aspects, cost, schedule, and reviews
Basic Qualifications for Engineer Guidance Navigation Control:
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and no experience
Candidate must have excellent communication, analysis and problem-solving skills and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for Principal Engineer Guidance Navigation Control:
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of experience, or a PhD Degree in STEM
Candidate must have excellent communication, analysis and problem-solving skills and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Flight test experience
Pilot experience
Knowledge of fixed-wing aircraft flight dynamics
Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
Knowledge of GIS Software and GIS techniques
Knowledge of Relational Databases (such as MSSQL or MySQL)
Proficiency with MATLAB, C/C++, Java, Python
Knowledge of flight sciences, control law development, and control system analysis
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
