Northrop Grumman is seeking a full-time TS/SCI cleared Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable and cloud solutions on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The role will require leveraging expertise in cloud technologies to drive architectural decisions, enhance system performance, and ensure the reliability and security of developed cloud infrastructure. This role requires an understanding of cloud platforms, proficiency in coding, and experience/ability to mentor/oversee junior developers as well as collaborating with other functions/teams/customers/stakeholders/partners. Candidates must be technically proficient and have real-word experience devising practical and sustainable solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the architecture of cloud-based solutions ensuring they are scalable, secure, and perform as required
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure using Amazon VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), ensuring secure networking environments and proper subnet configuration routing, and security group management.
- Design and define API specifications for high performance, scalability, and availability
- Code, debug, test and support utilities, tools, and frameworks to support cloud application development process
- Ensure that cloud solutions adhere to best practices for security and compliance following Federal, DoD, IC, DAF, and/or USSF guidelines and directives
- Implement and manage identity and access controls, encryption, and other security measures as required
- Gather cloud requirements and deliver solutions that meet mission and business needs
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud applications and infrastructure
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud solutions, including architecture diagrams, code comments, and operational procedures
- Document test cases, expected test results, test data requirements, and collaborate with testing teams and business partners to resolve testing problems
- Configure build pipelines, perform static and dynamic security analysis, and store build artifacts including container images and deployment scripts in artifact repositories
- Identify and research issues with applications and recommend/implement solutions
- Perform research on the state-of-the-art and applicability of cloud solutions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, offering code reviews, technical support, and fostering a collaborative learning environment
- Other duties as assigned as pertains to cloud development
Basic Qualifications:
- Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience; OR a high school diploma/equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience
- 5-7 or more years of experience in developing full-stack applications
- Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services: IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Load balancing, VPCs, S3, EC2, AWS CLI, Transit Gateway and Lambda.
- Experience working with cloud environments like AWS and/or Azure
- Experience or familiarity with AWS CloudFormation or HashiCorp Terraform, GitOps.
- Experience with DevOps or DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines e.g. GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, and Nexus 3
- Experience building OCI compliant container image formats and interoperability among different runtimes (e.g. Docker, CRI-O)
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work and interact with technically and organizationally diverse personnel
Required Qualifications:
- Obtained AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate or other cloud provider equivalent certification or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or other cloud provider equivalent certification
- Experience installing and configuring container orchestration platforms (e.g. Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift)
- Experience in implementing artificial intelligence services
- Experience working/developing in multi-domain, multi-cloud, hybrid-cloud environments
- Experience deploying applications on SIPRNet and JWICS
- Experience testing code/applications using current best practices and tools
- Scrum training/certification from Scrum Alliance
- Security+ training/certification CompTIA
