Description
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) is seeking a Manager Hardware Engineering 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville AL.
The selected candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's C4 Missile Defense Engineering Leadership team, in the capacity of Hardware Engineering Department Manager with responsibility for a growing 100+ person organization primarily located in Huntsville AL. C4 Missile Defense business unit is part of the Combat System Mission Readiness (CSMR) Division, that protects and secures our global citizens through the development of integrated net-enabled command & control and training systems and solutions that defend against air and missile threats, enhance situational awareness, and prepare for the mission.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Drive agility and operational efficiency in hardware and design engineering processes and tools
- Provide Functional Management support to attract, develop, promote, retain and assess the hardware engineering workforce
- Collaborate with other functions, including manufacturing, supply chain and quality mission assurance to deliver business value to programs
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, the applicant must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- BS, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related STEM degree
- 10 years’ experience providing technical oversight to engineering teams of mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers supporting the design, procurement, and integration of hardware systems
- 5 years of design engineering and product delivery of hardware systems including use of CAD tools and engineering analysis
- 5 years’ experience managing organizational budgets
- Demonstrated strong people, organizational, presentation and communication skills
- Position requires a current Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Prior experience in hardware design engineering activities related to development and delivery of US Army air defense Command and Control (C2) Systems.
- Experience with manufacturing execution processes and tools such as SMART MES
- Prior experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Teamcenter Unified Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (EPLM)
