Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (T2) or Principal Manufacturing Engineer (T3). This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel Program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Final grade level offered will be based on suitable applicant experience.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Candidate will have sound technical experience and understanding of Production Processes for Assembly, Fabrication, Planning & Tooling. For day-to-day tasks, must possess strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and PC computer skills. Understanding of tooling strategies for high-rate production, and document control. Possess a can-do attitude and willingness to learn, advise and guide team members in the challenging environment of a startup program. Supports production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including Manufacturing Readiness Assessments, total quality management, manufacturing equipment, facilities engineering, process reengineering and establish sector business area procedural documentation. May facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in core skill areas to teams and peers, and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product tooling, problem resolution, and process improvement.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Manufacturing Engineer - STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience OR Master's Degree or Ph.D. with 0 years of experience. Experience must be in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication and assembly of composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations.
Principal Manufacturing Engineering - )STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience OR Master's Degree with 3 years of experience. Experience mu be in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication and assembly of composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations. OR 0 years experience with a Ph.D.
Experience with electrical connections, cable harness installation, and stakeholder review within the design process.
US Citizenship with a current, active DoD Secret clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years, and the ability to obtain a Special Access Program clearance after starting as a condition of continued employment.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) tool and or Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Experience with Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) or other missile systems
Experience managing/coordinating technical projects (Cost, schedule and technical performance).
Experience identifying and mitigating producibility requirements
Experience working with sub-tier suppliers.
Knowledge of AS6500 requirements.
