Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Section Leader for the Digital Hardware and Integrated Circuits (DHIC) Department. This role will be based in Gilbert, AZ.
The candidate will be responsible for leading a 10–12 person organization whose focus is Digital Hardware product development for our nation’s most critical Space Systems. As a key member of the Digital Hardware and Integrated Circuits (DHIC) Department leadership team, the selected candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the functional team including employee development & mentoring, performance management, personnel recruiting & retention, staffing, communications, technical support to programs and technology/business development efforts. Candidates must possess strong initiative, a demonstrated ability to multiplex in a dynamic environment, a responsive attitude, and a proven ability to balance competing program and functional demands. Must demonstrate the ability to create a collaborative, engaging working environment, and an ability to manage competing interests/priorities are highly desirable. This is a full-time position with responsibilities split between 20% section manager role and 80% technical role.
You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers in a rapidly expanding organization as well as engage with Northrop Grumman's space systems subject matter experts and business leaders. This role is eligible for relocation assistance and Hybrid work environment in Gilbert, Arizona for well qualified candidates. Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer engineering, or related digital engineering degree and 3+ years of engineering experience
Previous Digital Hardware team leadership experience
Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
Dept of Defense Secret level with a background investigation date within 10 years OR Dept of Energy L clearance with a background investigation date within 10 years
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Project Engineer, IPTL, or CAM developing products containing Digital FPGAs, ASICs, Processors, or Hardware Assemblies
Bid and Proposal experience.
Experience working on digital hardware for space flight applications
