Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Industrial Engineer. This position will be located on Vandenburg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA and will support the Sentinel - Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program for the Systems Test Team (STT).

What You’ll Get To Do:
This role will support manufacturing and test activities for the Systems Test Team. You will be responsible for planning and scheduling all test activities at the VSFB, CA site. The preferred candidate will be an individual with a bias for action, strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, exceptional customer focus, communications, and a sound foundation in Industrial Engineering concepts, with an expertise in scheduling, manpower, and facility layouts. General skills and expectations within the role include:
Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals. (Production Intervals, Cycle Times, Forecasting, Manufacturing Experience, Takt Time, Continuous Improvement)
Understand principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.)
Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain to perform analysis and projections
Develop cost/risk benefit summaries and recommendations for leadership
Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules Software tools.
Ability to create detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks to independent demands
Utilize process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction, etc.)
Understand labor standard development and work measurement
Experience creating factory and facility layouts
Improve workflow for efficiencies
Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements
Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
Utilize your strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and coordinate with teams at different site locations
Create and present technical briefings for upper management and technical leadership
Effective verbal and written communications skills

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineer or a STEM related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 0 years with Master’s or Ph.D.
Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final DoD Secret Security level clearance post-start as well as clearance to a Special Access program (SAP) post-start.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
Have a working knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active DoD security clearance
Intermediate/Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint, and Visio
Proficient in creating manufacturing schedules
ICBM / Aerospace Systems Industry Experience
