We are looking for you to join our team as a Signal / Image Processing Engineer – Radar based out of Woodland Hills, CA. As a Signal / Image Processing Engineer – Radar at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA is currently seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Signal/Image Processing Engineer with a current/active Top Secret clearance to support radar exploitation and signal processing activities in the Artificial Intelligence and Analytics department.
In this role, the selected candidate will join a group developing algorithms for a novel radar capability. In this position you will perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, algorithm development, prototyping, implementation, and test. The position requires familiarity with radar remote sensing and classical signal processing techniques.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Determining reuse possibilities, or conceptualizing novel algorithms
- Designing and rapidly prototyping implementation
- Designing a robust test suite
- Creating presentation material to explain and document work, and presenting to internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Signal/Image Processing Engineer are:
- 5 years of experience in scientific systems engineering or signal processing with a Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline; 3 years experience with Masters; 0 Years with a PhD
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Academic background and/or on-the-job experience in radar processing
- Skilled with Matlab and/or Python
- Demonstrated oral and written presentation skills
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Signal/Image Processing Engineer are:
- 9 years of experience in scientific systems engineering or signal processing with a Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline; 7 years experience with Masters; 4 Years with a PhD
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance
- Academic background and/or on-the-job experience in radar processing
- Skilled with Matlab and/or Python
- Demonstrated oral and written presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with C / C++
- Academic background and/or on-the-job use of advanced mathematics or statistics
- Experience with development and application of signal/image processing algorithms
