Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Manufacturing Engineering/Tooling organization. This leadership role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL.
This position is on-site in Melbourne, FL and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role.
This manager is part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and field exciting aeronautics products. They are responsible for ensuring the Manufacturing Engineers have the tools and plan to execute their job. Assignments and metrics assigned to track team’s progress must be maintained in compliance to performance objectives. This manager will be responsible for supporting the design of subsystems integration and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of 12 – 15 Manufacturing Engineers for the creation of Manufacturing Bill of Materials, manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspects performance of aircraft subsystems, components, assemblies, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize tools, equipment, and manufacturing techniques.
Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations and engineering specifications.
Responsible for ensuring day-to-day ME tasks are executed by team.
Ensures adequate staffing and earned value meets program performance expectations.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 5 years of engineering experience in aeronautics, maintenance or manufacturing/production or a Masters Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 2 years of engineering experience in aeronautics, maintenance or manufacturing/production.
- 2 years of leading projects or teams
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to travel Domestically 10%
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the last 5 1/2 years or in a continuous evaluation.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance.
- 5 years of leadership/management experience.
- Experience with developing enhancement processes that improve production shop floor efficiencies.
- Experience in electrical back shop, cable harness fabrication and testing
- Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates.
- Experience in Low Observable manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in System Integration and Test equipment and techniques into production lines.
- Prior experience in composite bonded structure and assemblies
- Experience in Siemens NX, TeamCenter, and/or SAP
- Experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
