Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Staff Chief Manufacturing Engineer for our BWI manufacturing plant.
The Staff Chief Manufacturing Engineer will act as the definitive technical authority for all aspects of manufacturing engineering on all program elements across the manufacturing plant (hardware/support/test). She/he will lead a multi-disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program and meeting cost and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinate requirements development, process/design verification, and validation activities.
Ensure that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Maintain cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best manufacturing engineering practices across the company.
Continually coordinate with the systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leader to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer.
Monitor production execution and initiates data-driven continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications for a Staff Chief Manufacturing Engineer:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or other related STEM area and at least fourteen (14) years of experience in Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Production, or related area - OR - a Master's degree in a STEM area and twelve (12) years of experience as described
Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience
Familiarity with Design of Experiment (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), 6 sigma concepts for process development and control
Fluency in MS Office software applications
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance
US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with Matlab, VBA and/or similar
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, NX or similar)
Experience with Minitab software
Experience with SAP MRP software
Experience with the Teamcenter Manufacturing software tool suite and Manufacturing Process Planning
