Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Hardware Engineer to support the FPGA/ASIC Circuit Design, Electronic Devices and Integrated Circuits, Mechanical Hardware Engineering, Power and RF Electronics and Microelectronics Engineering Teams.
As part of FPGA/ASIC Circuit Design team, you will work on design and verification of full-custom digital and mixed signal Superconducting Circuits providing the skills to transform computing beyond Moore’s Law, advancing development of computer architectures, processing/memory subsystems, and large-scale high-performance computing systems.
As part of the Electronic Devices and Integrated Circuits team, you will design and layout electronic circuitry that is used in many different military subsystems systems and platforms.
As part of the Mechanical Hardware Engineering team, you will design electronic packaging while applying advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts while contributing to the development of new principles and concepts.
As part of the Power and RF Electronics team, you will design power electronics and RF circuitry that is used in many different military subsystems systems and platforms.
As part of the Microelectronics Engineering team, you will support both production and development programs with opportunities to support multiple advanced technologies and devices.
This position will be located at one of our three locations in: Baltimore, Linthicum or Annapolis, Maryland.
Basic Qualifications Principal Hardware Engineer:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree.
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Candidate must have the ability to obtain or maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
Experience in the design, fabrication, and test
Basic Qualifications Senior Principal Hardware Engineer:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 9 years of experience; or 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree or 4 years of relevant experience with a Ph.D.
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Candidate must have the ability to obtain or maintain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret Clearance
Experience in the design, fabrication, and test
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher
Familiarity with data analysis using tools such as JMP, SAS, R, Tableau, Python, or other data analysis software
Familiarity with classical structural and finite element analysis
Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with developing Finite Element Models (FEM) from CAD geometry
Familiarity with common analog circuits such as amplifiers, bandgap volage references, voltage regulators as well as A/D and D/A converters
Familiarity with Signal processing functions such as Integrators, differentiators and filters
Familiarity with schematic entry and simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre.
Familiarity with the use of the tools to characterize DC and AC performance such as bandwidth, gain/phase margin, PSRR over corners.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
