Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer Industrial (Discrete Event Simulation Modeling). This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The Industrial Engineer will lead and support the development of discrete event simulation models to analyze and optimize production processes and systems for the GBSD program. This will include but not be limited to:
Determining crew sizes.
Researching and developing a sequence of operations.
Improving workflow for efficiencies.
Methods for maximum utilization of personnel and facilities
The successful candidate will have substantial knowledge and understanding of master production scheduling, material requirements planning, and manufacturing business systems.
Responsibilities/ skill sets:
Perform capacity analysis utilizing discrete event simulation
Leverage knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain to perform analysis
Understanding of schedule waterfall build with setbacks for demand planning
Develop factory facility layout
Create simulations utilizing manufacturing metrics
Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements
Work with a cross-functional team to understand scheduling requirements at the implementation site
Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
Utilize leadership, organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds
Present analysis to technical leadership as well technical review boards

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelors degree, 3 years with Masters or 0 years with a Ph.D.
Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and self-start
Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final Secret Security level clearance post-start
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
Active DoD security clearance
Knowledge of SAP MRP, AutoCAD, and FlexSim
Experience in Aerospace or DoD development (EMD) or Production Programs
Experience developing system hardware build-out and deployment planning
