Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging career as a Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in Northridge, CA? If so, then Northrop Grumman Defense Systems may be the employer for you!

We are currently seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer who will research, plan, design, develop, and document structural and/or electromechanical components and assemblies for the SiAW program. This includes, but is not limited to, electronic components and assemblies, airframes, separation mechanisms, and more!

Basic Qualifications:

o Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of nine (9) years Mechanical and/or Electrical Design experience using CAD software OR a Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of seven (7) years Mechanical and/or Electrical Design experience using CAD software.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)

o Experience with detailed tolerance analyses

o A US Gov't Secret clearance

o Experience with proposal writing

o Self-Starter familiar with dynamic work environments.

o Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT).

o Familiarity with PTC Creo (7.0 is preferred) and Windchill.

o Familiarity with ASME Y14.5.

o Familiarity with Trade Studies.

o Experience with aero-structure design.

o Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc...).

o Experience with CCA design.

o Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc...)

Salary Range: $117,700 - $176,500

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
