Northrop Grumman is in need of a Propulsion Engineer – level 2 or 3 to work at its Palm Beach Gardens, Florida location. The position will be hired to the demonstrated education, skills, and experience.
- Provide thermal and structural analysis modeling and simulation to support design activities for the Advanced Propulsion and Systems product lines, as well as all Propulsion Systems and Controls product lines. These simulations include development of the model, gridding, selection of boundary conditions and constraints, selection of applicable material properties, selection of proper simulation code and methodology. Key responsibilities for this position include developing methodologies, interpretation of analytical results, and recommendation for design improvement.
- Preparation of technical reports and presentations of work product to both internal and external customers. Provide technical assessments of test hardware and test data.
- Provide material specialist services to design engineers and process engineers. Development of material test plans, selection of test methods, test data analysis to support material modeling efforts. Development of material models for thermal and structural analyses efforts.
- Develop analytical approaches to assist in the resolution of unique thermal and structural mechanics issues. Assist in design effort of test articles to provide necessary data for full scale applications. Provide structural mechanics, material specialist services to IPT working group.
- Assist project team in design of experiments testing to provide necessary data to support detailed analyses.
- Support propulsion and subsystem IPT leads to ensure technical and cost execution of each system component.
- Form close working relationships with group members as well as internal and external customers.
Basic Qualifications for level 2:
- Must have a Bachelors degree in STEM for plus at least 2 years of experience or a Masters degree in STEM, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Basic Qualifications for level 3:
- Must have a Bachelors degree in STEM for plus at least 5 years of experience or a Masters degree in STEM and at least 3 years of experience, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
