Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
This role will manage our Chandler Integration and Test Quality Team. Manager will interface and support all Field Site Integration and Test teams in VSFB, Promontory, Huntsville, and Wallops. This team includes a total of 25 plus direct reports. Manager will provide Launch Manifest oversite and ensure that Quality is supported at all field campaigns. Travel is required and can be as much as 20%. Manager will be responsible to ensure that we meet all customer quality requirements, including reviews of Mission Assurance Contract Summaries. Manager will ensure that all Quality metrics are measured and monitored and report progress on a monthly basis. These metrics will include items such as Launch Readiness Reports, Product Escapes, First Articles statuses, Drawing reviews/approvals, non-conformance reporting, corrective action reporting, continuous improvement activities, and performance review management. This function will also hold the key role to represent Launch Vehicles division in supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement quality initiatives. Knowledge with automated inspection capabilities a plus. The manager selected will interface with the Product Assurance and Supplier Quality teams to ensure that company values and company's overall metrics are met.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 9-year minimum experience with Bachelor's degree. 7 years with Master's degree
