SSSD has an opening for a Staff Mission Assurance Supplier Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach CA.
As a Staff Mission Assurance Supplier Engineer, you will collaborate with program management, engineering, subcontracts/procurement functional management and supplier management teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers. You will define the Supplier MA program within the scope of contract requirements and NG policies and processes. You will coordinate and oversee Mission Assurance Supplier implementation across all program phases.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Supports program Mission Assurance Director with solutions to supplier/subcontractor related issues in a timely manner
- Good communication skills keep management apprised of supplier performance, quality status and risks.
- Support program PCAB and other various meetings by presenting quality metrics and ensures all supplier issues are resolved
- Knowledge in Control Account Management (CAM) to maintain supplier mission assurance budget for program
- Basic concepts of bidding on proposals
- Support various functional areas in support of program mission and act as consultant to quickly resolve supplier issues for delivery of critical hardware
- Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list
- Evaluates supplier-non-conformances, negative performance trends and failures and determines root cause and implements corrective and preventive actions
- Be able to mentor team members and support them when needed

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field with fourteen (14) Years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or other relevant discipline; OR a Master’s degree with twelve (12) years of related experience; OR a PhD with nine (9) years of experience
- Experience with spacecraft and/or Electronic, Electrical, or Electro-mechanical hardware manufacturing
- Experienced working with nonconforming material investigations and/or root cause and corrective actions (RCCA)
- Experience utilizing ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Active Top Secret/SCI DoD Government Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in SAP and MES data management systems
- Knowledge of supply chain management processes
