Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.
Depending on experience, we are looking for either a Principal Engineer Mission Assurance or a Senior principal Engineer Mission Assurance.
The selected Principal Mission Assurance Engineer / Sr Principal Mission Assurance Engineer will support multiple contracts within the RQ-4 Enterprise, which is part of the Autonomous Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting Business Unit. The position is in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA. The Mission Assurance engineer will be collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, program management along with several other functions to ensure overall Mission Assurance of the program.
Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.
Basic Qualifications (Principal Engineer Mission Assurance)
Must have a Bachelor’s STEM degree with 5 years OR Master’s STEM Degree with 3 years OR PhD with 0 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in aircraft, aerospace, or manufacturing industries along with lead/leadership experience.
Must either have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) or be able to obtain DOD Secret clearance (or higher) within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications (Principal Engineer Mission Assurance)
Bachelor’s STEM degree with 5 years OR Master’s STEM Degree with 3 years OR PhD with 0 years of related experience.
Experience in utilizing Agile methodology.
Strong orientation to change in a dynamic and logistically challenging environment
Understanding of quality policies, procedures, and governmental regulations
Ability to analyze alternative courses of action where decisions have risk/reward implications for program or area of influence
Proficiency in root cause and corrective action processes
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, globally, and to all levels of any organization.
