Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team in Elkridge, Maryland. The Quality Engineer collaborates with Engineering and Manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Performs oversite and monitoring of site risks and opportunities.
Assists in the performance of independent quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
Designs and analyzes inspection and test procedures, mechanisms and equipment; performs analysis to assess the cost of and responsibility for products, materials, or processes that do not meet the required standards and specifications.
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction assuring process and product quality. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with the requirements.
May have experience and/or be certified in implementing lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
This position may be filled at a level 2 (Quality Engoneer) or a level 3 (Principal Quality Engineer), depending on experience.
Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Quality:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field
- 2+ years of relevant experience (or 1+ with a master's degree)
- Ability to review and disposition items coming to VMDA cage
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Basic Qualifications a Principal Engineer Quality:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field
- 5+ years of relevant experience (or 3+ with a master's degree)
- Ability to review and disposition items coming to VMDA cage
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Green Belt certified
