Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operates successfully in a team atmosphere.
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and maintained. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders and customers
- Perform production floor activities associated with quality, production, and test activities, while assisting in the corrective action board (CAB) including data gathering and analysis.
- Possess technical knowledge in specifications/standards, drawing interpretation, measurement and analysis methods, process and product assessments, and corrective action methodology.
- Monitors manufacturing processes, performs quality assessments and audits, and reviews non-conforming material.
- Provides engineering support for the inspection organization.
- Facilitates Preventive & Corrective Action Board (PCAB) process including data gathering, analysis, and presentation.
- Possess the ability to apply technical standards, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.
- Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction while collaborating with the compliance team.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Uses LEAN concepts and Six Sigma tools as aides to problem resolution.
Maintains and continuously develops technical knowledge in quality engineering, specifications/standards, drawing interpretation, measurement and analysis methods, processes and products, relevant technologies, and problem-solving methodology.
Principal Engineer
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of mission assurance experience with STEM Bachelor's degree; 3 years of mission assurance experience with master's degree; 0 years of experience with PhD.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Possess technical knowledge in quality specifications and standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications especially Excel, Word, Power Point
- Experience conveying technical information (both written and verbal)
- Experience working with quality management systems.
- Quality related experience in the following processes: Composite, assembly
- Drawing interpretation
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 and internal auditing
- Experience in a DoD Manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or materials engineering
- Master’s degree in STEM discipline.
- Experience with MES or MESX systems.
- Quality standards and specifications knowledge
- PCDMIS CMM programming experience.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Certification in a Method.
- DoD Secret Clearance or Higher
