Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a Controls Engineering Manager 1 to support our Process Controls Engineering team at the Clearfield Utah facility and Copper Crossing facility.
The selected candidate will support the Case Value Stream in Clearfield Utah.
Specific Management Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate a diverse Controls Engineering team (up to 4 Engineers)
Guideline ratio 70% Engineering work 30% Managerial work
Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the Controls group.
Uphold engineering principles of ethics and integrity, and Northrop Grumman values.
Recruiting and retention
Mentor and provide career guidance and goal-setting
Performance evaluations
Policy dissemination
Employee inclusion and engagement
Staffing, workload planning/forecasting and time charge approvals
Active in cross plant alignment
Position Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other closely related technical degree, plus 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering.
A desire to support and improve Manufacturing processes
Basic Qualifications:
Creative self starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with minimal supervision
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented with excellent follow up ability
Capable of using flow charts to program and troubleshoot
Experience in Lean Manufacturing is a plus
Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills
Intelligent and curious – ready to learn and grow in an exciting field
Design & support software solutions for manufacturing processes
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ensure compliance with cyber security requirements governed by DOD and NIST
Continuously improve manufacturing processes
Perform cause and corrective action activities to permanently eliminate defects
Follow company software development lifecycle
Work Closely with Infrastructure
Contribute to programming standards and best practice
