Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Software Architect to join our C2BMC team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The selected Staff Software Architect will provide support for the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. The selected candidate will fill a leadership role as the Software Architect for the Battle Management/Sensor Resource Management (BM/SRM) team.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate all SRM integration activities
- Lead all BM/SRM automation efforts
- Meet with and demonstrate product to leadership
- Direct and mentor team of junior staff members
- Be available to answer stakeholder inquiries
- Directly assist BM/SRM Product Owner

BQs for a Staff Software Architect:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 14 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 12 years of related experience, or 9 years of experience with a PhD.
- 14 years of increasingly responsible roles in the development and integration of large complex DoD software systems
- Ability to work independently in Java, C++ and Fortran
- Experience with Eclipse, Jenkins and Git
- Problem solving skills and ability to root cause System Test problems
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience in the missile defense, strategic or tactical systems domain
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance which is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience converting a large application to container based services
- Experience with Automated Testing and software/documentation pipelines
- Focused experience in sensor resource management
- A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
