Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Modeling & Simulation Applications Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

As a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer, the candidate will work with the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) on the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Applications team.

Essential Functions:

Design, implement, integrate, test, and support the software development lifecycle with peer reviews, documentation, and configuration management, adhering to the Agile development process.

Basic Qualifications:

Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Work experience or college coursework/projects that required significant time developing in Java and a similar language.
Ability and willingness to travel locally up-to 30% to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance which is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

Software development experience using Java on a Linux platform is desired.
Experience using C++ or other object-oriented programming languages is desired.
Experience working in an Agile development environment and process using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, NEXUS, and GitLab is highly desired.

Salary Range: $77,200 - $115,800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
