Northrop Grumman is looking for an energetic, self-directed, and focused Associate Engineer Software / Engineer Software to join our Test Solutions team. The Test Solutions team consists of Systems, Hardware, Software, and Test Engineering professionals working as a team to rapidly develop emerging technologies while performing modern upgrades to legacy Test Solutions.
This position is located at Warner Robins, GA and you will be required to work onsite daily.
You will need to be able to do 10% overnight travel if/as needed.
What you’ll get to do:
The selected candidate will get the opportunity to work Research and Development (R&D) programs with an experienced and energetic team to rapidly develop and deploy various test solutions. This candidate will develop, integrate, test, and deliver test solutions to both internal and external customers for testing various avionics, radar, and electronic warfare programs. The candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of difficult problems and drive to a solution while working in a supportive team environment.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to accelerate their understanding of hardware and software integration in the context of an overall systems view.
Your responsibilities also include:
*Develop software using software engineering best practices and standards
*Participate in the full life cycle of software development, to include requirements development, application development, modular testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and upgrades
*Apply technical expertise in solving complex integration problems
*Interact frequently with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers
Basic Qualifications:
*Experience in object-oriented programing within a Windows environment
*Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
*Demonstrated skills in solving problems and responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction, and experience interfacing with all levels of employees and management
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in C/C++
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university with at least 2-years of software engineering experience OR a master’s degree in one of the above listed majors.
Experience developing custom displays and user interfaces
Familiarity with Rapid Application Development (RAD) development environments (QT, .NET, C++ Builder)
Familiarity with software configuration management tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
Familiarity with LABVIEW, TestStand, and/or Python
Familiarity with Software integration and test techniques
Familiarity with integration of avionics interfaces (Ethernet, Fiber Channel, Firewire, MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429, etc.)
