Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector (NGMS) is seeking a Secure Embedded Architect at the Staff Embedded Software Engineer level to support the Advanced Processing Solutions Organization. This position is 100% onsite in Linthicum, MD.
The selected architect will be responsible for supporting leading the technical solution of a new secure capability for a using program. The architect must successfully interact with customers, program leadership, and peer engineering organizations to understand requirements, document use cases and create detailed design documentation for junior engineering to implement. The architect will train and lead a team of engineers to implement and deliver those capabilities within schedule and cost constraints. The selected architect will develop and maintain technical design material including that of the secure solution for internal and customer consumption. The architect will be expected to provide novel technical solutions to complex problems and unplanned change. The architect will provide accurate and timely updates on risks, technical issues, and progress. The selected architect will also interface with product owners and systems engineers to ensure technical designs meet customer requirements and are feasible within program constraints.
Basic Qualifications at the Staff Level
Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, a master’s degree with 10 years of experience or a PhD with 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
U.S Citizenship required
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Experience developing, delivering, and supporting a secure embedded product, including applied cryptography and middleware experience (e.g., OpenSSL, TLS)
Demonstrated experience in presenting technical content to customers through both written and verbal means
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with good Agile (Scrum) team execution and principles
Strong C/C++ background, Python background, and some knowledge in JAVA, JVM & RMI.
Experience with SW tools: Git, Atlassian suite (BitBucket, Confluence, Jira), Jenkins, static & dynamic code analysis (i.e., SonarQube)
Device Driver development
Size and speed optimizing software for embedded platforms.
Modifying and integrating open-source software
DevOps practices and tools.
This position is contingent upon contract award, ability to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
