The Space Systems Sector is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer or Senior Principal Software Engineer in to join a Ground team based out of Morrisville NC, Fairfax VA, Linthicum MD and Aurora CO.
The successful candidate for this position will join a group of Software engineers that is designing, deploying, and maintaining Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments for a ground system. The ground system will include Docker containers orchestrated by Kubernetes.
We are seeking an experienced User Software Developer to work as a member of an Agile team developing a high-visibility, mission critical component of a larger system. The new team members will be working with Docker, Linux, Python, AWS, NATS, and GRPC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working individually and as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. The team is seeking talented engineers who resolve software problems and utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. The successful candidates shall have experience with creating specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS)/ Government Off-the Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Qualifications
This position may be performed at a Principal Software Engineer level or Senior Principal Software Engineer level depending on the qualifications, skills, and experience of the candidate.
Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
Senior Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
Basic Qualifications:
Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI
Experience with Agile software development using Python in a Linux environment
Experienced in Dockerizing Applications and Container Management (Docker and Kubernetes)
Experience with the NATS and GRPC infrastructures
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Certifications as a Certified AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), i.e. CSA-A or CSA-P, or equivalent
Experienced with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
CI poly or FSP
