Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Composite Manufacturing Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT. You will be part of an Integrated Product Team supporting production by creating manufacturing software using 3D model based definition.
Responsibilities:
Creating, maintaining, supporting and continuing development of software that supports:
Automated manufacturing machines and systems
Manual manufacturing processes
Understand customer product/technical requirements and ensure successful project development and execution
Maintains technical standards for project/programs
Support lean manufacturing and process flow optimization activities
Supporting production in using manufacturing equipment and assist maintenance personnel as needed when troubleshooting and/or repairing
Assist R&D programs to improve system capabilities and bring new ideas and technology into projects and pursuits
Stays informed of technical advances through education, training, etc.

This role is day shift with occasional off hour support. Travel is estimated to be less than 5%. This team adheres to our customers’ work schedule. This role may be filled at an Engineer Software or Principal Engineer Software level based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
Software Engineer
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 2 years of related work experience; or a Masters Degree in a STEM discipline.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
Principal Software Engineer
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 5 years of related work experience; or a Masters Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related work experience; or a PhD in a STEM discipline.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access
Experience in 3D modeling
Experience manufacturing processes
Experience with windows and MS office
Solid model and complex geometry
STEM Degree preferred
Working knowledge of NX and/or CATIA
Working knowledge of Siemens FiberSIM
Laser Projection Experience (Virtek LaserEdge preferred)
Pattern Cutting Nesting Experience (TruNest preferred)
