Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Software Engineer (T4) –
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs hard real-time embedded software containing logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission critical software.
- Must be able to work and collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones.
- Ensures program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met.
- Understands and can develop in a continuous integration tool chain meeting technical and compliance requirement.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification
- Sr Principal Software Engineer should have 9 Years with bachelor's in science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
- Experience with C/C++ and object-oriented design
- Experience with embedded SW development
- Experience with SW test automation (test case/procedure development)
- SW Development Experience in Windows, Linux, and VM environments
- Knowledge of targeting a real time operating system
- Support full lifecycle software development experience
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Experience developing in an Agile environment
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Holds a current in-scope DoD or DoD SAP clearance
- Experience with developing software for hardware devices
- Experience leading a SW test automation and developing test cases/procedures
- Proficiency with Atlassian Tools such as: Jira, Confluence, Git/GitLab, etc.
- Experience with working in a fast pace, Agile environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery
