Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Principal Embedded Software Engineer – 10772, 10773, 10074. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs hard real-time embedded software containing logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission critical software. Must be able to work and collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones. Ensures program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met. Understands and can develop in a continuous integration tool chain environment meeting technical and compliance requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in a STEM discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Experience in a formal technical lead position.
Experience with C++ and object-oriented design.
Experience with full life cycle of software development and Agile software development.
Experience with architecting and/or writing requirements and/or developing software applications for flight system.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Experience developing missile flight systems software.
Experience with developing software for hardware devices.
Experience developing software for a hard real time system.
Experience with DO-178C compliance.
Experience with nuclear surety requirements (AFMAN 91-119).
Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans.
Experience developing or debugging operating system software targeted for an embedded system.
Familiarity with Jira.

Salary Range: $90,400 - $135,600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
