Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking to hire a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Learn more about the Sentinel program here.
Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The selected candidate will be part of the Command & Launch Systems Engineering team supporting the development of the architecture, requirements and verification plans for Launch Equipment System.
Specific duties in this role will include:
- Support systems engineering activities including use case development, requirements definition/allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability to the test plans.
- Develop/Maintain descriptive system models in UAFP, SysML, and UML using MBSE tools to define interfaces, physical/functional block diagrams, and behaviors.
- Coordinate with integrated product teams for establishing content within the architecture.
- Interface with customers, program management and technical staff.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with at least 9 years of related systems engineering experience, 7 years with a master’s degree
- Active Secret clearance investigated within the last 5 years with the ability to obtain special access
- 2 years of broad technical and MBSE experience, across multiple platforms, and encompassing the entire product development lifecycle
- 2 years of experience developing models with Cameo or equivalent tools
- 2 years of experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies, practices, and tools
- Prior Weapon System program experience
- General understanding of Northrop Grumman Corporation Engineering Processes
- Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with senior management, peers, and employees
- An active DoD top secret clearance in scope (investigation within the last 6 years) and SAP/SAR program access
