This position is for a Manager Aeronautical Engineering : Integration & Test in our Integration (Build) and Test (I&T) Engineering team within the Launch Vehicles Business Unit at our Chandler, AZ facility.
Essential Functions:
- Manage technical, schedule, cost; as well as Integration & Test Engineering resources allocated to various programs. This includes identifying and addressing program risks to ensure launch success, facilitating technical solutions based on heritage and similar vehicles
- Lead by example, ensure proper cross-training of the team, and make sure the team understands the requirements of the Program and how they relate to the individual tasks that are being assigned to the team
- Conduct periodic meetings with the team to review their performance relative to the Program schedule
- Anticipates customer needs and finds innovative ways to provide for those needs
- Originates and develops constructive ideas. Consistently looks for ways to modify or change existing methods or processes to improve outcomes
- Determine I&T engineering tasks required for project planning and execution; Analyze project requirements and develop detailed planning, conceptual designs, and risk analysis
- Interact with internal and external customers; Assist the customer in defining system requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub systems
- Provide technical guidance and direction to I&T engineering team in the design, test, production, and maintenance phases of a project
- Develop and present materials for project related briefings including design reviews to internal and external customers
- Perform project management
- Act as a liaison for I&T with quality, engineering, and program management
- Challenge business impediments to excellence and continuous improvement
- Exercise influence and lead others

- Communicate clearly and excel in a fast-paced environment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of related engineering experience, OR a Master’s in Engineering and 3 years related experience, OR a PhD in Engineering
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance
- Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to large customer community
- Ability to solve problems, support troubleshooting efforts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Ability to work in a team environment and lead small projects or teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience supporting integration / testing of flight hardware and oversight of technician work tasking is strongly desired.
- Experience working with design, integration, or testing of launch vehicles
- Experience with Northrop Grumman LV I&T standards/guidelines and expectations
- Experience with external customer interfacing (meetings, presentation, negotiation)
- Experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems
- Demonstrated experience supporting integration / testing of flight hardware and oversight of technician work tasking
- Ability to be flexible, innovative, work with speed and agility to drive tasks to completion.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
