We are looking for you to join our team as an EMI/EMC Technical Services Engineer / Principal EMI/EMC Technical Services Engineer based out of McClellan, CA.
As an EMI/EMC Technical Services Engineer, you will provide technical advice and guidance on installation, configuration, design and testing of components and systems for EMI/EMC. You will provide expertise for resolving EMI/EMC problems, troubleshoot product and modify product to customer requirements. Work may be done at customer site. Includes software systems and programs designed for customers (corporate and individual) and government entities.
What You’ll Get To Do:
- Apply electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to EMI/EMC components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing
- Support and participate in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems for EMI/EMC
- Test components and systems for various EMI/EMC requirements and create test reports post EMI/EMC tests to clearly capture the results
- Employ strong interpersonal and communication skills while operating within an integrated product team
- Promote knowledge transfer within the organization by sharing of lessons learned and best practices
- Provide as needed engineering support to material review boards and failure review boards
- Work with agility and minimal direction to complete program tasks on-time; failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources
This position may be filled as a EMI/EMC Technical Services Engineer or Principal EMI/EMC Technical Services Engineer
Basic Qualifications for EMI/EMC Technical Services Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 2 years of experience; or 0 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree
- An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree
- Experience with operating EMI/EMC testing facility
- Familiarity in conducting military standard emissions testing per applicable requirements (MIL-STD-XXX)
- Experience with creating EMI/EMC test plans and test reports
- Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and be able and willing to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for Principal EMI/EMC Principal Technical Services Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; or 0 years of experience with STEM PhD degree
- An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree
- Experience with operating EMI/EMC testing facility
- Familiarity in conducting military standard emissions testing per applicable requirements (MIL-STD-XXX)
- Experience with creating EMI/EMC test plans and test reports
- Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and be able and willing to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electromechanical or electronics EMI/EMC design for airborne/military applications (may consider candidates with similar industry experience)
