Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Systems Engineer - AARGM-ER Production to support the Production Team for the AARGM-ER programs to work with our talented Advanced Weapons team in Northridge, CA.
Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Northridge, CA. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working within the production environment, working closely with RF engineering teams and vendors, supporting the production efforts as part of the Systems Engineering team for the AARGM-ER program and will work closely with various engineering functions for developing projects that attribute to yield improvement, such as failure investigation analysis, automation projects.
In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):
- Provide systems engineering support as part of a troubleshooting teams with systems engineering expertise in multiple areas preferred (RF, Electrical, and/or Mechanical Engineering)
- Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
- Create, update, and maintain Matlab data analysis programs for production and performance testing evaluation
- Support Failure Trend Analysis.
- Provide data mining for both failure database (TipQA) and ATP data variability analysis.
- Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and project status.
- Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met
- Support the management of critical subcontractors for developing, testing and delivery of quality products that meet the requirements
- Support various technical meetings, such as Material Review Boards (MRB), Change Control Board (CCB), Engineering Review Board (ERB), to understand the latest configuration(s) of the system/subsystem integration and designs and assess impact
- Collaborate cross-functionally/IPTs and production team to document manufacturing/test requirements and constraints for missile production
- Generate manufacturing documentation, e.g., Acceptance Test Plans, Acceptance Test Procedures, Assembly Instructions, based on system/subsystem designs
- Support updates to Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Change Notices (ICNs), technical manuals, technical specifications, and system/subsystem documentation for the customer/end user
- Coordinate engineering activities during system integration, test phases, and production
- Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program
- Generate Engineering Change Proposals
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering or physics discipline with a minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Active DoD security clearance
- Proven experience in communicating and collaborating across different technical disciplines
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating (written and oral) within all levels of the company to include Program Management and Technical Staff
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Ability to follow test and manufacturing procedures
- Familiarity with product structure and document hierarchy
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment while ensuring the best decisions are made for the program
- Must be willing and able to work on-site in Northridge, CA on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Missile/Weapon development/sustainment programs
- Experience with systems engineering tools such as IBM Rationale DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody
- Experience in configuration management process using a product lifecycle management tool, e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, StarTeam
- Experience in Matlab or Python experience
- Experience working in a production environment
- Experience with design in an aerospace environment
- Experience working with RF or Electronics sensor systems
- Experience with military in aircraft weapons release systems or weapon systems
- Familiarity with RCCA process
- Prior experience working in an AS9100 environment
