Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Reliability Engineer or Principal Reliability Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL, operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every Friday off. This position has no opportunity for remote or Hybrid work.
The Engineer will be assigned work in the Product Support organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis. Candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and verifying subsystem R&M performance requirements for all design changes and new development efforts to ensure that R&M program requirements are achieved. The primary responsibility of the position will be reliability, maintainability, and testability.

Essential Functions:
Perform R&M allocations and predictions.
Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
Perform Built in Test (BIT) testability analysis.
Perform mission reliability analysis.
Perform failure tracking within the Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
Develop and review plans maintainability demonstrations.
Develop/review/approve Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems.
Basic Qualifications Reliability Engineer:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 2 years’ relevant experience; OR a Masters’ Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 0 years’ experience
Must have experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline.
Must have the ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the company to meet business needs.
Basic Qualifications Principal Reliability Engineer:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 5 years’ relevant experience; OR a Masters in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 3 years’ relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 0 Years ‘relevant experience.
Must have experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline.
Must have the ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the company to meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
5 years of experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline
Excellent oral and written communication & interpersonal skills
Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
Active, In scope DoD Secret clearance within the last 5 years with Special Program Access
