Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for an Associate Systems Engineer/Systems Engineer to join our Model Based Engineering Tools team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Engineering department. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida. This position can be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
The MBE Tools Team leverages prior engineering design/analysis experience to support Model-based Analysis (MBA), Model-based Design (MBD), Model-based Manufacturing (MBM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives related to engineering tools development. He/she works independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of Engineering Tools and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop documentation and artifacts for the end-to-end representation of aircraft design/build processes and procedures.
- Responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining architecture and system models using MBSE modeling tools.
- Collaborate with program stakeholders and functional team members to define Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system requirements and ensure they are accurately captured in the models.

Basic Qualifications for Associate Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance
Basic Qualifications for the Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Experience working in an aerospace design environment. Emphasis placed in the following disciplines: Structural Design/Analysis, Subsystems Design/Analysis, Electrical/Mechanical Routing, or Mechanism Design/Analysis.
- Experience working in the context of an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Understanding and working knowledge of SysML
- Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering practices and implementation
- Experience using system modeling tools (Cameo preferred) to solve systems engineering problems.
- Experience defining requirements with DOORS
