The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Our team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain optimized product lines across the sector while providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter. Northrop Grumman’s Payload and Ground Systems Division is growing its Mission Analysis capability. We plan to do this by enlisting the support of several capable and driven engineers specializing in the analysis of satellite orbits to determine how best to achieve the mission objectives.
This position can be located either out of our BWI Campus in Linthicum, MD or Rolling Meadows Campus in Rolling Meadows, IL.
Job Duties:
Design and implement custom signal processing algorithms
Research advancements in technology to provide cutting-edge solutions
Design and test algorithms using MATLAB, C, and other languages.
Analyze and optimize system performance
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure program success
Work with other engineers to analyze complex problems and provide unique solutions
This position can be staffed a level 3 or 4, based on the basic qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 3: Principal Engineer: Bachelor's in STEM field + 5 years of experience; Master's + 3 years of experience; or PhD
Level 4: Sr Principal Engineer: Bachelor's in STEM field + 9years of experience; Master's + 7 years of experience; or PhD + 4 years of experience
Active and current TS/SCI Clearance
Experience in algorithm development or system modeling using Matlab, and/or Python Experience
Understanding of RF/Radar Design and Link Budget Development and Analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
5 to 10 years Space Systems experience
Masters in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, or Systems Engineering; or Mathematics or Physics, Aerospace
Active TS/SCI clearance
Strong Technical background in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering and familiar with algorithm development or system modeling
Experience in Matlab, System Modeling and Simulation or Python Experience
Radar Design / RF experienceExperience with Link Budget Development and Analysis
