The successful candidate will join our SEIT management team in developing multifunction sensors for some of the most advanced systems in the U.S. and our allies’ arsenal. The selected candidate will clearly demonstrate strong management skills and will have a track record as a motivated leader, an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. The selected candidate will demonstrate abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching. They will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish team and department goals.
This is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall Functional oversight and management of a SEIT group of 5-10 engineers and/or interns as well as performing direct work on a program(s)/proposal(s). The candidate will spend ~10% of their time on support of the organization and ~90% of their time on technical direct work. The time split may fluctuate throughout the year, especially during surge recruiting and rotation months. The management indirect responsibilities involve organizational administrative activities and helping their employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, A Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance and SAP upon starting
- Candidate must be a U.S Citizen
- 5 years of progressive Systems and/or Software Engineering / Development experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate diverse and inclusive teams in a leadership role
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering and Integration and Test processes
- Experience with good Agile (Scrum) team execution and principles
- Ability to obtain higher levels of clearance to include SAP
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working understanding of real-time operating systems such as Linux or VxWorks
- Management of budget for technical activities
- Experience developing, delivering, and supporting a secure embedded product
- Software Development and/or Software Engineering background with an Agile/DevSecOps mindset and experience with real-time embedded systems
- Strong C/C++ background, Python background, and some knowledge in JAVA, JVM & RMI
- Tools: Git, Atlassian (BitBucket, Confluence, Jira), Jenkins, static & dynamic code analysis (i.e., SonarQube)
- Experience developing boot software (First stage bootloader, U-boot, UEFI, etc.) for custom boards.
- Applied cryptography and middleware experience (e.g., OpenSSL, TLS)
- Experience developing register-level models of hardware IP in Systems/TLM2
- Experience developing Device Tree files for custom hardware.
- Device Driver development
- Size and speed optimizing software for embedded platforms.
- Modifying and integrating open-source software
- DevOps practices and tools.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This position is contingent upon transfer of DoD Secret Clearance.
