The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Architect to join our team and develop these technologies into high-performance computing systems that solve an assortment of unique mission needs. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.
Role and Responsibilities
Support the Systems Architect with any program specific responsibilities allocated to the role to include:
- Design and development of sensor system architectures and definition of key capabilities and performance requirements
- Define the system implementation approach and operational concept of operations
- Create, evolve, and maintain the System Architecture that supports customer requirements, cost, and development schedule, including modularity, scalability, and extensibility
- Develop and define system and component interfaces
- Ensure the systematic conversion of customer or product needs into total systems solutions
- Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements development and allocation, and interface definition studies translating customer needs into hardware and software requirements and specifications
- Lead / oversee technical work products developed by the larger engineering team, supporting design reviews and integration and test activities as needed
- Support capture activities, including RFI/RFP preparation, customer presentations and demonstrations, and competitor analysis
- Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and developing strategies for their insertion into both legacy and next-generation applications
- Provide presentations to customers and senior management, with tailored material based on the audience.
- Apply new technologies as well as common designs and products enabling rapid development, prototyping and affordable solutions.
This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Staff Systems Architect:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 9 years of experience.
- Demonstrated system development experience.
- High proficiency in technical problem solving; to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring Leadership experience with development and/or production program execution.
- Multi-disciplined knowledge in areas related to engineering including systems design, hardware, software and firmware design, integration and test.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
- Current active DoD TS/SCI with poly security per clearance business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading technical teams.
- Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).
- Demonstrated Experience working with CAMEO.
- Experience developing test plans and analyzing test data.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.
