We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 3 based out of Linthicum, MD and will require 100% on-site work.
What You’ll get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a leader to manage its Combat Sensors Systems Engineering Integration and Test Section. This Section is comprised of multiple front line engineering groups responsible for Systems integration and test activities across all programs in the Combat Sensors Business Unit. This is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall Functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of approximately 40-70 engineers organized into multiple teams; each team led by a Team Lead (front line manager). The Team Leads and senior individual contributors will report directly to the selected Section Lead. The management side involves organizational administrative activities and helping their employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training. The direct program work may include systems engineering technical work, conducting design reviews, IPT leadership, consulting, proposal support, or any other appropriate technical function.
The Systems Engineering Manager 3 will spend 20-50% of their time on supporting the organization and 50-80% of their time on technical program work.
Manager of managers position with 4 manager-led functional groups comprising the Section
Oversee the performance management process, compensation planning, talent development, continuous improvement, and program staffing
Provide project and technical oversight for integration and test activities performed by the Section
Maintain and ensure application of Engineering processes and guidelines used in the Section
Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external Customers
Collaborate with peer Section Leads to ensure consistency across multiple organizations
Support group initiatives, recruiting, workload forecasting, staffing, cross-campus/sector involvement, cost center budget planning, and internally funded projects.
This position is contingent upon contract award, the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and approval of Special Program Access after hire.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
U.S Citizenship is required.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) after hire.
Experience with leading large and diverse technical teams.
Knowledge of hiring, staffing, engineering metrics, training resources, processes, and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
A current /active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader
Leadership and/or technical experience in areas related to Systems integration & test
Experience within the systems engineering discipline in either the defense or aerospace industries.
