Northrop Grumman is currently looking for a Reliability/Principal Reliability Engineer Level 2/3 to work in our Facilities and Maintenance group at the Iuka facility near Iuka, MS.
Description & responsibilities:
As a Reliability Engineer you will have the following responsibilities:
- Reviews existing equipment and becomes completely familiar with the OEM’s manufacturing build protocol as it relates to machine function.
- Provides emphasis to ensure that the correct preventative maintenance procedures are in place as it relates to the mechanical and electrical systems and recommend all necessary spare parts to keep the plant operational on a 24/7 basis.
- Develops and implements machine monitoring strategy to support reliability centered maintenance to predict machine failures before they happen using vibration, temperature, and other variable analysis.
- This position works to ensure that all equipment performs at their ultimate performance level and maintain a high level of uptime.
- There is considerable latitude for independent action and decision making.
- You will support our current facility and allow it to grow to the next level of operations and production.
- You will prepare presentations and reports detailing the Operational Equipment Effectiveness on all machines assigned.
- You will aid in developing standard specifications for all future equipment purchases.
- Assist in repairs and work towards being Subject Matter Expert on equipment and being the support knowledge base for the maintenance technicians.

This position may be filled as either a level 2 or level 3 depending on qualification below
Basic Qualifications:
Reliability Engineer (level 2):
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) with 2 year of experience in the following engineering fields: Reliability, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Aerospace, Electrical, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Controls or a Master’s degree in STEM discipline with 0 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- Experience with Industrial Automated Equipment.
- Experience in Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain a Secret US Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Principal Reliability Engineer (level 3):
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) with 5 year of experience in the following engineering fields: Reliability, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Aerospace, Electrical, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Controls or a Master’s degree in STEM discipline with 3 years of experience in mentioned fields OR PhD in STEM discipline with 0 years of experience.
- Experience programming PLC’s (programmable logic controller), controls, servo or similar systems and design of electrical control systems.
- Experience in Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain a Secret US Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).
- Experience in Reliability Engineering
- Position may be filled at a higher level requiring Bachelor’s degree in Reliability Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline or Statistics and 2 years’ experience
- Experience with Industrial IoT technology/FMMS.
- Experience with Automated equipment and control system including Allen Bradly, FANUC, and Siemens, Heidenhein, Indramat.
- Experience in installing and commissioning industrial equipment.
- Experience working reliability engineering.
