Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
What you’ll get to do:
- Support systems engineering activities including use case development, requirements definition/allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability to the test plans
- Develop/Maintain descriptive system models in UAFP, SysML, and UML using MBSE tools to define interfaces, physical/functional block diagrams, and behaviors
- Coordinate with integrated product teams for establishing content within the architecture.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll bring these qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level or level Sr. Principal level.
- Bachelor's degree in Science and Engineering or a related technical discipline
- A minimum 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 0 years with a Master’s (Principal level requires 5 years with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD)
- Active Secret Security Clearance with investigation/adjudicated within the last 6 years
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience, demonstrating broad technical experience across multiple platforms, and encompassing the entire product development lifecycle
- Detailed, hands-on experience using one or more of the following common MBSE tools in the areas of Architecture, Design, and V&V: Cameo, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, DOORS, Teamcenter, etc
These qualifications would be nice to have:
- Experience with Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Systems Modeling Language (SYSML), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
- Experience defining systems architecture for developing and decomposing requirements and system functions, developing functional and physical system architectures, and defining interfaces
- Experience developing large, complex systems and holding cross-functional architecture reviews
- Experience with physical security systems
- Previous Systems Engineering experience and understanding of the Systems Engineering Process
- Experience with Agile Development
- Experience using Requirement’s repository tools (i.e., DOORS).
