Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. This position is located in Roy, Utah.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer for Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Products in the Payload Advanced Equipment Team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Create and maintain SysML and UAF models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Payload Systems GBSD structure and behavior using accurate UAF/SysML representations according to OMG standards.
- Capture, trace, analyze and manage requirements in DOORS.
- Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications.
- Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems.
- Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate verification requirements.
- Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis.
- Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements.
- Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering function.
- Interface with Air Force customer.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
- This position requires a degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
- A minimum 5 years of related engineering experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's; or 2 years with a PhD
- Minimum 2 year of experience with MBSE tools
- US Citizenship with an active Secret Security Clearance awarded/renewed in the last 6 years and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ICBM Weapon Systems
- Experience with any of the following tools and languages: DOORS, Cameo, ModelCenter, MagicDraw, UML, SysML
- Preferred 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering and any of the following areas:
- Requirements Management: MBSE, Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
- Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
- Design: Systems Design, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
- General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: Safety, Nuclear Hardness, Nuclear Surety, Material Science, Environmental, Parts and Logistics, etc.
