Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill a Deputy Product Owner/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position can be filled at our Fairfax, VA, Morrisville, NC, or Linthicum, MD offices.

Position Overview:
As a Command and Control(C2) Deputy Product Owner, you’ll support the C2 Product owner by providing technical product team leadership oversight. You will be responsible for supporting the C2 SW product development roadmap, providing SW development guidance to the team, leading planning increments, providing agile planning and execution, resolving technical issues that create roadblocks for development, supporting upcoming proposals, and supporting product owner in other tasks as needed.
Basic Job Responsibilities:
- Managing C2 backlog, release planning, and increment planning
- Providing planning, and execution using JIRA and Confluence
- Must have familiarity with Requirements, ICDs, MARs, SW development, and test development.
- Experience leading an agile SW development team as a scrum master/ Deputy Product Owner.
- Extensive Experience and understanding of AGILE/SCRUM methodology.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
- 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 12 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 9 years of relevant experience with a PhD; 18 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
- Experience in SW development or experience leading a SW development team.
- Experience with Ground Systems (space or satellite knowledge highly preferred)
- Active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility, and willing to sit for a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS/Cloud experience
- Expertise in Cornerstone SW development
- Expertise in AMP SW development activities
- Expertise in MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) tools, frameworks, languages, and concepts.
